ABOUT US
The Lotus Ensemble
offers live classical music and services in the Hawaiian islands. The
group
focuses on a variety of string ensemble combinations, including solo,
duo, trio and string quartet. All of
our ensembles are comprised of professional musicians from the
Honolulu
Symphony Orchestra. We perform all around the Hawaiian islands and have
traveled as far as South Korea for performances as a group.
Dr. Nikki Routman, Founder (Main Contact)
Raised in Tokyo, Japan, violinist Nikki Routman began music studies at age five with Dr. Suzuki (founder of the Suzuki Method). She later attended the Toho Music School in Japan, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Pre-Medicine from the University of Texas at Austin. She received her masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Nikki is currently a member of the Honolulu Symphony and World Symphony Orchestra in South Korea. An active music educator, Dr. Routman is in large demand as a bilingual instructor of the Suzuki Method. You can find more information about her teaching studio at http://www.violinartistry.com
The Other Members
The group consists of professional musicians from the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Each member holds degrees in music from various U.S. conservatories and has experience performing in venues all across the world.
